Several questions were asked regarding the possibility of having adult education
classes in Skeffling 45% of respondents said they would like to see them. There
was an even response to the types of classes people would support, from the given
list the most popular was a local history class, 22% said they would be interested
in this. Positive feedback on this topic was received at the open day with several
people expressing an interest to members of the steering group. A selection of other
classes people would support included computing and crafts, these achieved 17% and
14% respectively of the total responses. Over 55% of respondents preferred classes
to be available in the evenings. Comments were received regarding alternative classes,
these included “work related training”, “old time dancing” and “flower arranging”.
To canvass residents, already showing an interest, with a view to establishing a
local history group.
To explore the possibility of organisations outside of Skeffling establishing classes
in the village.
