Minutes of Meeting held on 27th October 1938


Those present:  Cllr. J. R. Boast, Chairman

Cllr. G. H. Branton

Cllr. G. H. Medforth

Cllr. R. Meadley

Cllr. H. Newsam

Cllr. H. Pinder


Cllr. H. J. Robinson arrived after the conclusion of business.


Minutes of meeting held on 14th September 1938


The minutes were confirmed as a true record.

Proposed:   Cllr. H. Newsam

Seconded:  Cllr. G. H. Medforth

Vote: carried unanimously



A letter from the East Riding County Council in reply to the Chairman's letter of the 15th ultimo was read.  This stated that instructions for the repair of Long Lane had been given.  This was noted and approved.


Appointment of Parish Clerk

The Chairman reported that he had received two applications for the post of Parish Clerk.  These were from Mr. T. G. Dudley of Humber Lane, Skeffling and Mr R. Pinder of Weeton.  The Chairman had asked each of the applicants to write specimen letters and copies of minutes.  These were read and considered by the members of the Council.  The voting was by ballot and Mr Dudley was appointed, receiving three votes, Mr Pinder receiving two votes.
