Matters Arising

Npower

The Clerk has contacted Joanne Horton of npower to explain our position and tell her a letter would be sent outlining the situation.  Ms. Horton said she would investigate the history of the dispute  and  email  the  Clerk  within a few days.   The Clerk sent relevant contact details to Ms. Horton, but, to date, no communication has been received from npower.  In consequence the Clerk was instructed to email Joanne Horton again and chase up the matter.  This email is to be followed with a letter in 14 days if nothing is received from npower.

Public Speaking

Cllr. M. Turnbull has been approached by Mr. Allan Atkinson regarding the radio aerial and mast erected in his neighbours garden at 7 West View, Chapel Lane, Skeffling.  The planning application for this aerial was refused, but the aerial was still erected.  After complaining to East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Mr. Atkinson was told the matter was closed as the aerial has been in place for more than 4 years and nothing can now be done to have it removed.  Mr. Atkinson has photographic evidence that the aerial has, in fact, been in situ for less than 4 years and has asked that the Parish Council look into the matter.

It was agreed the Clerk write to Mr. McFee at the Planning Department regarding this matter and ask why the enforcement order has not been carried out.  It should also be stressed in the letter that a considerable amount of time and resources have been given to this, these include meetings, applications, government officers having to visit, etc.

This item will be placed on the Agenda for the Council meeting on 2nd November and a response by Mr. McFee would be appreciated by that date.

Meeting closed at 8.30pm

Date of next meeting:   2nd November 2010
