The minutes were accepted as an accurate account.
Proposed: Cllr. P. Payne
Seconded: Cllr. J. F. Robinson
Vote: carried unanimously
Due to pressure of work, Cllr. M. Turnbull has been unable to contact Yorkshire Water, and Cllr. J. Sizer has not yet purchased the strimmer. Both these matters will be dealt with this month. Cllr. J. F. Robinson reported that the filtration plant has not been working correctly and this is to be looked into by Yorkshire Water. The plant has also been switched off by persons unknown and it has not been turned back on. The Council has previously complained to Yorkshire Water that there should be a cover on the plant to restrict access to the switches. Cllr. J. F. Robinson has asked Yorkshire Water to look into this as well.
Cllr. P. Payne has returned the questionnaire to Streetscene. He has pointed out that more work needs to be done to the paths and verges. Regarding the problem at Elmfield as reported by Mrs. Meadley, Mike Peeke has put it on the list, but there is little money to do the work.
Declaration of Interest
There were no declarations of interest.
All financial matters must be ready for the next meeting in November, prior to the precept being set in December. It was agreed that decisions must be made on how to spend the money from the land sale and other income. The final decision will be made at the November meeting.
A letter has been received from Inspector Steve Love, C Division, Humberside Police, Withernsea. This explained the proposed merging of two Forces as decided by the Home Office. Whilst no firm decision has been made, recommendations by Humberside Police will be made to the Home Office by Christmas. The proposed merger will not take effect for 2 - 3 years.
The meeting closed at 8.20 p.m.
