Matters Arising

Planning permission for 7 West View, Skeffling (06/05213/PLF)

A letter has been sent to the Planning Department outlining the Councils concerns regarding this planning permission.  No reply has yet been received.

Wind Turbine

The Planning Application for the wind turbine at the Village Hall will be heard on Monday, 6th November, 2006.

Long Lane

A letter has been received from Stuart Mumby, stating that the matter is being looked at by the Legal Department of East Riding of Yorkshire Council.  It could take up to 2 years before a decision is reached.

Cllr. J. F. Robinson proposed we write to the Legal Department with a copy to Stuart Mumby requesting that the matter be resolved quickly.  Parishioners want to use these facilities and would like to have Long Lane on the definitive map as soon as possible.  It was agreed that the time frame of 2 years was unacceptable, and would like to know why this should take so long.

Proposed:   Cllr. J. F. Robinson

Seconded:  Cllr. J. Sizer

Vote:  carried unanimously

Declaration of Interest

There were no declarations of interest.

Precept

It was agreed the precept should increase as in previous years.  This matter to be fully discussed and a decision made at the December meeting.

Lighting for the Church

Cllr. J. Sizer has researched prices and styles of gas lamp which would be suitable for the Church's purpose.  It was agreed that one of the lamps be bought by the Council and donated to the Church.  Cllr. J. Sizer will ask Mrs. Meadley which lamp would be most appropriate.

Proposed:   Cllr. M. Turnbull

Seconded:  Cllr. S. Rollinson

Vote:  carried unanimously

Correspondence Folder

Cllr. J. Sizer has asked whether the Correspondence Folder is the best way of circulating information amongst Councillors.  After a discussion it was agreed that the folder remain as it is and be updated each month.  It was felt this was the most efficient way of dealing with the Council's business.

Councillors Contact Details

A parishioner has asked that Councillors names and telephone numbers appear in Skeffling News should anyone wish to contact them.  After a lengthy discussion it was agreed that for security reasons it would be unwise to publish private telephone numbers.  If any parishioner is unable to speak to anyone on the Council, they should contact the Parish Clerk who will pass on their details for a Councillor to ring them.  In addition, any parishioner is welcome to attend Council meetings on the first Tuesday of every month, and either speak at Public Speaking or see a Councillor before or after the meeting.

Correspondence

A  letter  has been received from Ruth Douglas regarding correspondence between herself and Mr. Brian Meadley.  The Council felt they could not intervene in this matter as it is a private issue between the two parties.  It was agreed that a letter be sent to Mrs. Douglas stating this.

The meeting closed at 8.50 p.m.

Date of next meeting:   5th December 2006
