Matters Arising

The strimmer has been purchased for £234.  Tarmac has been put down outside Elmfield as arranged by Mike Peeke of Highways.

Declaration of Interest

Cllr. L. Payne declared an interest in the item on Finances where it relates to the Village Hall.

Following a discussion regarding the monies made from the sale of Parish Land and other payments from Yorkshire Water, it was decided to donate £4,000 to the Village Hall.  It was felt this was the most appropriate way to benefit the whole village as this money rightly belongs to the village.  This donation left the sum of £962 which will remain in the Parish Council's account and be used for the play area, fencing and landscaping of the Village Hall.

Cllr. M. Turnbull proposed that: "…£4,000 be donated to the Skeffling Village Hall Committee."

Seconded:  Cllr. S. Rollinson

Vote:  carried unanimously

A cheque was raised in the sum of £4,000 made payable to Skeffling Village Hall.

It was agreed that the Precept for 2006/2007 will rise in line with inflation.  This gives a Precept of £1,030.

Proposed:   Cllr. M. Turnbull

Seconded:  Cllr. P. Payne

Vote:  carried unanimously

The papers to be sent back to East Riding of Yorkshire Council immediately.

This item to be put on the Agenda for December.

Yorkshire Water

The filtration plant is not working properly.  Cllr. M. Turnbull has spoken to Yorkshire Water who have no record of the plant being installed.  Cllrs. M. Turnbull and J. F. Robinson will be meeting with a representative of Yorkshire Water to discuss all the problems and the making good of necessary work.  The representative will visit the site to see what has to be done.  The plant itself must have a cover to prevent vandalism and it must be sound proofed.

A letter has been received from Alwyn Potts regarding the work promised by Langeled.  Mr. Potts said that road signs would be put in place warning lorries to slow down going through the village, but none of the other work the Council requested will be done.  Cllr. M. Turnbull is to contact Langeled to enquire why they have reneged on their promises.  The village has born a lot of disruption and it was strongly felt that Langeled make good the damage which has been done by their heavy goods vehicles.

A cheque was raised in the sum of £58.75p. as full payment of the invoice from the Audit commission for the 2004/2005 audit.

The meeting closed at 8.40 p.m.

Date of next meeting:   6th December 2005
