Minutes of Meeting held on 1st May 2012

Minutes of meeting held on 3rd April 2012

The minutes were accepted as an accurate record.

Matters Arising

The Environment Agency dug out the clough on Thursday, 26th April.  Cllr. M. Turnbull will suggest to Keith Crawford of the Environment Agency that when they clear out the dykes in September they clear the clough at the same time.  This suggestion will be followed with a letter confirming the agreement.

 

Winsett's Track

From 24 April 2012 Winsett's Track has been open to the general public.  This matter has been ongoing for the past 20 years.

 

Declaration of Interest

There were no Declarations of Interest.

 

Finances

Annual Audit

The Annual Audit was discussed and completed.

Cllr. M. Turnbull proposed:..."that the Annual Audit be confirmed as an accurate account of Skeffling Parish Council's financial transactions for the year 2011/12.

Vote:  carried unanimously

 

Wayleave Payment

The wayleave payment to Mr. B. Meadley for this year was £170.49p.  A payment was also made for electricity supply to the street light of £24.54p. plus a peppercorn rent of £1 for this facility. Cheques were raised in the amount of £170.49p. and £25.54p.

 

Councillor's Expenses

After a long discussion it was agreed that as from the beginning of this financial year all Councillors will claim expenses for travel and meals, where allowable.  In the present austere financial climate, with petrol and other costs having increased, it is unfair for Councillors to have to finance themselves when employed on Council business.

 

Playground

The playground must be done this year and the running total for re-cycling money to be brought up to date to establish the final total of ring fenced money to be spent on the playground to improve the facilities.  It was agreed that the Parish Council will pay for the fencing as this is Parish Council land.

 

Correspondence

We have received a letter from Jennifer Kippax regarding the costs of the Pathway Funding Project as asked for during her presentation at the last meeting.

 

Public Speaking

There was no public speaking.
