Matters Arising

With regard to the matter of rubbish being left on the verge outside Mrs. Graydon's, it was agreed to defer the matter until the next meeting.  With regard to Yorkshire Water and any adverse aspects to future planning permission, the Chairman will ring Steve Dunn to ask for an assurance in writing.  It was strongly felt the matter should be minuted as confirmation of the action taken.

A letter was sent to Mr. Karl Jeffs with an order for the litter bins.  There has been no reply to date.

Code of Conduct

A cheque made payable to ERNLLCA was raised in the sum of £14.50 to cover the Council's share of public notices for the adoption of the Model of Code of Conduct.

Proposed:   Cllr. M. Hall

Seconded:  Cllr. R. Newsam

Vote:  Carried unanimously

Yorkshire Water

No date has been set for the work to begin on the filtration plant.  A letter from Judy Anderson, Asset Manager (East), has confirmed that Yorkshire Water have accepted outfall No. 2 as their responsibility.

Listed Buildings

It was suggested that the council contact Edward Atkinson to ask why there was no liaison with the Parish Council before the 14 sites were listed.  The Chairman to ring Mr. Atkinson initially, this to be followed up with a letter.

Planning Application

Planning application by Mr. Brian Meadley has been sought for the erection of an agricultural building at Wilberforce Farm, Winsett's Road.  It was proposed that the application be passed.

Proposed:   Cllr. M. Turnbull

Seconded:  Cllr. J. F. Robinson

Vote: Carried unanimously

Coastal Management Meetings

After a detailed discussion it was agreed that Cllr. M. Turnbull and Cllr. M. Hall attend a meeting with the Environment Agency on the 18th June at Hedon to discuss plans for future Coastal Management in the area.  Cllrs. M. Turnbull, M. Hall and S. Rollinson have accepted an invitation to attend a further meeting scheduled for 10th July.

Village Hall Insurance

The annual insurance premium on the Village Hall has gone up to £680 as quoted by The Insurance Partnership.  This was felt to be excessive, and it was agreed that the Chairman request quotes from other companies.  This to be discussed further at the next meeting.

Any Other Business

It was felt that Yorkshire Wildlife Trust was out of order to send out letters asking for funds in connection with Old Hall Farm.  This took place after the sale and requests for funds to purchase the fields.  It was agreed that the Chairman ring Mr. Richard Donner to inform him of the council's feelings.

The meeting closed at 9 p.m.

Date of next meeting 2nd July 2002
