Matters Arising

Environment Agency

The Environment Agency had cleaned out the clough again, but it is still not right.  Cllr. M. Turnbull was not happy with it.  The penstock door cannot be repaired as the Environment Agency do not have spares.  They will replace it with a plastic door.  Nick Ward and Neil Oxley had no paperwork regarding the problems at Easington and the work which needed doing there. Cllr. M. Turnbull will contact Nick Ward and Neil Oxley again about this.

Annual Audit

The Annual Audit has been passed.

Some of the concrete fence posts have been put in place.  The rest will be done as soon as possible.

Declaration of Interest

Cllr. R. Newsam declared an interest in Item 5 on the Agenda – BT Wind Turbine Farm.

Adoption of Telephone Box

Karen Smith of Manor Garth has suggested that if Skeffling Parish Council adopt the phone box in Main Road, it could be used to house a defibrillator for use by doctors, paramedics, ambulance and other NHS personnel.  Mrs Smith has volunteered to maintain and clean the phone box.  The NHS would insure the equipment.  It was agreed that the phone box be adopted.

Proposed:   Cllr. M. Turnbull

Seconded:  Cllr. R. Newsam

Vote:  carried unanimously

BT Wind Turbine Farm

Cllr. R. Newsam took no part in the discussion.

The Clerk has contacted East Riding of Yorkshire Council Planning Department to query the progress of BT’s Application.  Before the application can go to the Planning Committee there are still issues with the MOD and Highways.  Until these have been resolved the matter cannot move forward.

Localism Act 2011 – Code of Conduct

The Localism Act 2011 states that in future all spouses or partners of Councillors must declare any assets and such information be put on Town/Parish Council websites as well as East Riding of Yorkshire Council website.  Cllr. M. Turnbull will contact Arthur Hodgson to clarify this and seek the views of other Councils in South Holderness.

Proposed:   Cllr. M. Turnbull

Seconded:  Cllr. R. Newsam

Vote:  carried unanimously
