Matters Arising

Major's Acre

All the paperwork is to be collated and a discussion take place to agree on how to proceed.

Village Hall

The new kitchen has arrived and Mr. Peter Simmonds has been employed to assemble it.  The work tops were damaged and replacements will arrive on Monday, 11th July.

Strimmer

Cllr. J. Sizer has approached Adamson's regarding a price.  They quoted a cost of £5 below Vowles price.  Cllr. J. F. Robinson said that Vowles had promised to match Adamson's price.  It was agreed this was the best value for money, as Vowles is a local company should there be problems with the strimmer.  It was further agreed to purchase the strimmer from Vowles.

Declaration of Interest

There were no declarations of interest.

Streetscene

A meeting took place on Thursday, 30th June at 9 am between Alwyn Potts of East Riding Council, Cllr. M. Turnbull and Cllr. P. Payne.  It was agreed that the bus stops be repainted and repaired.  The path up to Laurel Farm will be renewed and be kerbed.  There is also a plan to put a path from Old Hall to the corner to make crossing the road safer.  Details to be discussed later. It is hoped funds will be available to kerb Green Corner.  There is £70,000 available to be shared between Patrington, Welwick, Weeton and Skeffling.  There should be no problem getting all the necessary work done.  ERYC will work in conjunction with Steve Roberts of Streetscene.

Correspondence

All letters have been put in the current folder for circulation among Councillors.

Public Speaking

Cllr. J. F. Robinson has been asked by a parishioner to congratulate all the Councillors and people who have volunteered to work on the Play Area.  A lot has been achieved and it has been appreciated.

Mrs. C. Parsonage confirmed Cllr. J. F. Robinson's comments.  The Play Area is looking really good and has added significantly to the attraction of the Village Hall.

Mrs. M. Meadley reported that the telephone box door does not open.  She has notified BT.  The phone has also been smashed.

The Council was asked how much it had spent on the Play Area.  Cllr. M. Turnbull said that because so many donations of materials and money have been received from the public, the Council has spent approximately £50.

The meeting closed at 8 p.m.
