Matters Arising

Yorkshire Water

A letter has been sent to Barry Adams of East Riding of Yorkshire Council asking for the £5,000 grant from the Flood Relief Grant from the Government.  The approximate cost of the piping will be £7,000.  The £5,000 will go towards this.

Parish Plan

The first meeting of the Steering Group will be on Wednesday, 6th February in the Village Hall at 7.30pm.  It was agreed that this item be placed on the Council Agenda every month to enable a report to be given to the Council.

Declaration of Interest

There were no declarations of interest.

Dykes/Drains - Out Newton Road

Mr. Mike Wright of Golden Hope, Out Newton Road has approached Cllr. R. Newsam to ask how the dyke and sewage system worked.  Cllr. R. Newsam suggested that as there seem to be so many problems with the dykes in Out Newton Road there should be a walkabout to assess the situation and get a better idea of the problem.  Cllr. Peter Payne will speak to Cllr. M. Turnbull to see if they can arrange a meeting at Out Newton Road at the weekend.  This item will be put on the March Agenda.

Dog Fouling

This item was deferred to the March meeting until Cllr. M. Turnbull is present.

All items of correspondence were for information only and put in the folder.

Public Speaking

Mrs. Dosdale congratulated the Council on applying for the grant of £5,000 from East Riding Council.  She felt that Yorkshire Water should take responsibility and it is appalling that they don't.  We are under threat of flooding every time it rains heavily.

Mrs. Peterson is worried about the dyke problem in Out Newton Road as this affects her house. She would like to be involved in the walkabout regarding the dykes as she was almost flooded again last week.

The meeting closed at 8.20 pm.

Date of next meeting:   4th March 2008
