Matters Arising

Listed Building Status

There has still been no response from Mr. Atkinson.  Cllr. M. Turnbull will contact him again.

Recycling Bins

The bins are now in place opposite the Village Hall.  There is one for paper and one for glass.

Holstock

Work is being carried out at Out Newton Road to repair the subsidence.  The road will be closed until the work is completed.

Manorial Deed

Cllr. J. F. Robinson reported that printing of the Manorial Deed has not been as good as was hoped.  Further work will be done to improve the printing and Cllr. J. F. Robinson will keep in touch with the printer.

New Signatory

It has been confirmed by the Alliance and Leicester that Cllr. R. Newsam is the new signatory.

Village Hall

The cost of cladding for the Village Hall will be £215 (inc.VAT).  It was suggested that new windows be put in at the same time, as the current window frames need repair.  The Village Hall committee will make the money available for the work.  At the moment the weather is too bad for the work to be carried out successfully, it will be started in 6/7 weeks.

Chapel Lane

This matter has been reported to Mike Peeke at the Highways Department.  We are still waiting for a reply.

Yorkshire Water

Cllrs. M. Turnbull and J. F. Robinson met with Yorkshire Water to finalise plans for the Filtration Plant.  Yorkshire Water will be using a 20" pipe and sewers laid to Laurel Farm and, possibly, The Lodge.  Approximately 15 houses will not be connected by right.  We have asked for a copy of all the  work they intend doing, and a detailed plan for our records when the work is complete. There will be a new sewer scheme for houses not entitled to automatic connection.  The work is due to start at Easter and will take approximately 10 weeks.  The Chairman will ring Mr John Clegg regarding the sale of the land and a letter of confirmation will be sent by the clerk.

Cllr. M. Turnbull proposed that: "…the Council accept the final plans for the filtration plant and sewage system and instruct Mr. J. Clegg to proceed with the sale of Parish land to Yorkshire Water."

Seconded:  Cllr. M. Hall

Vote:  Carried unanimously

There will be liaison with the contractors at the time the work is being done.

Shoreline Management

Councillors attended a meeting arranged by Welwick Parish Council to discuss ideas for the Shoreline Management.  Philip Winn and Graham Wilson represented the Environment Agency.  No decisions can be made until final plans are received from the Environment Agency sometime at the end of March.  They have promised to keep us updated. There will be further liaison with Welwick Parish Council.
