Minutes of meeting held on 27th October 1938


The minutes were confirmed as a true record.

Proposed:   Cllr. H. Pinder

Seconded:  Cllr. G. H. Medforth

Vote: carried unanimously



Circular from Messrs Phillips re lighting, noted.  Letters from National Fitness Campaign, for particulars re playing fields etc.  Clerk instructed to fill up and return.


Letter was read from divisional surveyor suggesting filling in of pond adjoining Mr Meadley's land. Mr Newsam proposed and Mr Branton seconded, that the clerk be instructed to write the County Council and ascertain as to whether it is within their powers to grant this request if so to give instructions to proceed, carried.



Chairman reports faults with telephone kiosk and complained to Post Office and same is now in order.



Mr Newsam reported that the stocks in Church Lane were left uncompleted and asked how long it would remain so.


Clerk instructed to call the attention of the Highways Surveyor to the condition it was left in and to give it his consideration.
