Langeled

A meeting was held between Cllr. M. Turnbull, Cllr. J. F. Robinson, Cllr. P. Payne, a representative of Langeled, Mike Peeke of Highways Department and his supervisor.  It was pointed out to Langeled that Skeffling had been promised so many improvements to the village, but all of these had eventually been turned down.

After discussing this it was agreed to kerb from Ashdene to Laurel Farm.  For kerbing to be put around Hill's corner, with double kerbing to stop lorries mounting the verges.  It was also agreed that the proposed pathway between Old Hall to the corner be cancelled in favour of other improvements.

The bus stops are to be tiled and refurbished, and, hopefully, to include bench seating.  Kerbing will be put around Stothard's corner to protect the verge.  The kerb outside Burstall Garth will be kerbed, again to protect the verge.  It is hoped this work will begin early in the new year when contractors have been employed to carry out the work.  The council will receive a letter confirming the work.

Benches

Cllr. J. F. Robinson is to investigate this further, and to provide styles of benches and costs for consideration.

Yorkshire Water

Dave Renshaw and Dave Sutton met councillors on site and after a long discussion agreed that the complaints made to Yorkshire Water by Cllrs. Turnbull and Robinson agreed that work still had to be done to rectify matters.  They have agreed to hedge the area around the filtration plant. They will also look into why we have not been paid for the hedging the council have put in.

Correspondence

A cheque has been received from YEDL in the sum of £19.05 in respect of the Wayleave payment.

The meeting closed at 8.40 p.m.
