Minutes of Meeting held on 4th December 2001

Minutes of meeting held on 6th November 2001


The minutes of the meeting were agreed as being an accurate account.

Matters Arising

A cheque has been received from Yorkshire Water for £314.25 in respect of the Invoices presented to them for emergency work carried out last winter.


A verbal agreement was given by Yorkshire Water to reinstate the dyke cleaning contract.  A letter to be sent to Louise Batty asking that this be put in writing with a photocopy of a plan stating which dykes will be included in the contract.


Precept for year 2002/2003

It was agreed that the precept be set at £650.

Yorkshire Water - Waste Water Treatment Works

It was agreed to write to Louise Batty of Yorkshire Water querying some aspects of the proposed site for the Waste Water Treatment Works, with a request that someone from Yorkshire Water come to discuss the proposed site with members of the Council.  Until that time a decision on leasing Council land to Yorkshire Water is deferred.

Any Other Business

Cllr. S. Rollinson pointed out that some considerable damage had been done to the entrance to Stothard's yard by a heavy vehicle.  It was agreed that Mike Peeke be notified by letter, and that repairs be done as soon as possible.


Cllr. R. Newsam asked if the Council had any plans to present local school children with a memento of the Queen's Jubilee next year.  Mrs Beadle reported that Skeffling 2000 have plans to mark the occasion in an appropriate way.


The meeting closed at 8.30 p.m.


Date of AGM and next meeting:  8th January 2002.  The AGM will begin at 7.30 p.m. and the Council meeting will follow.
