Chairman's Report

The chairman said that this year the Council had dealt with a lot of problems left from the past. Most of these problems have been resolved satisfactorily.  The problems with the pumping station was in the process of being sorted out, although this was taking time.  Negotiations were still taking place to repair the damage caused by heavy traffic through the village.  Talks with Langeled were ongoing, and Cllr. J. F. Robinson was in constant contact with them in an effort to obtain as much financial help for the village as possible.  This was proving hard work, but some repairs have been agreed.

This year the Council must try and resolve the issues which have been in progress for a couple of year.  Work has been a bit slow, but it is happening and everything is being picked up one by one.

Cllr. M. Turnbull thanked all the Parish Councillors for the work they had done throughout the year.  In particular he thanked Cllr. J. F. Robinson for his huge contribution to the smooth running of the Council.  He has spent many hours on the telephone chasing up authorities and agencies to make sure the work they had promised was done.

Cllr. M. Turnbull also said he hoped the parishioners realised how much unpaid work was done by Councillors in their own time and at their own expense.  As a result of their dedication Skeffling Parish Council is running smoothly and improving the facilities to the people of the village.

The meeting was closed at 7.10 p.m.
