Chairman's Report

I am happy to report that this has been a good year for the Council and Skeffling. A lot of projects have been completed.  The filtration plant is up and running, but there are still a few problems to sort out with Yorkshire Water.  The other project, which we are very proud of, is the refurbishment of the Village Hall.  Mrs. Beadle was instrumental in making it possible for us to obtain a grant for the work, which we did at very short notice.  From receiving the go ahead from the Regeneration Board, we had 3 weeks to complete the work.  With the help of volunteers from the village it was finished on time.  Whilst the main work has been done, there is still work to do on the interior.

I would like to thank all the Parish Councillors for the hard work they have done over the past year.  There are several new projects in the pipeline for next year.

Cllr. Peter Payne thanked Cllr. M. Turnbull for his hard work, particularly on the village hall project.  He said Cllr. M. Turnbull had worked incredibly hard on this, and couldn't praise him highly enough.  He gave his time generously, and was to be congratulated.

Public Speaking

Mrs. Charmain Parsonage thanked the Council and the volunteers for the new look Village Hall. She appreciated the amount of hard work which had gone into the project, particularly as, at the time, the weather was atrocious, and conditions cold and difficult to work in.  However, with the determination of the volunteers it was finished, and they are all to be congratulated on the outcome.  On behalf of the villagers she said the village hall now looked terrific.  As a previous councillor she knew that not only was personal time given to the project, but personal money, too.  She concluded by giving thanks to the Council for everything it has done for the village during the past year.  It was a credit to Cllr. M. Turnbull's leadership that so much had been accomplished.

The meeting was closed at 7.55 p.m.
