Matters Arising

The Manorial Deed printing was discussed.  Cllr. J. F. Robinson has been unsuccessful in locating a cheaper print method for the Deed.  Cllr. P. Payne will make enquiries amongst his contacts. Mrs. Beadle will request firm offers to buy the prints in the Newsletter so that a list can be compiled.

Village Hall Insurance

A cheque for the sum of £125.68 has been sent to The Insurance Partnership in respect of Public Liability Insurance.

Yorkshire Water

A new set of plans are to be made as the previous set were still not accurate. Yorkshire Water will re pipe with 9" pipe from the crossroads down to Green Corner.  The work will commence in May/June.  Yorkshire Water have no intention of piping down Chapel Lane.  There will be an investigation into the problems outside the Post Office.  Cllr. J. F. Robinson will continue negotiations with Steve Pace of Yorkshire Water.

Code of Conduct

Following a further discussion on the procedures to be adopted, the proposal "…that this Council formally adopt the code of Conduct 2001", was put to the Council.

Proposed:   Cllr. M. Hall

Seconded:  Cllr. P. Payne

Vote:  Carried unanimously

Appointment of Land Agent

John Clegg has been appointed as Land Agent in regard to the sale of Parish Land to Yorkshire Water.  He has written to confirm this.  He has also written to Yorkshire Water to find out who he will be dealing with.  His charges are being paid by Yorkshire Water.  This is to be verified with Yorkshire Water.  Mr Clegg has visited the site with Cllr. J. F. Robinson.  He asked if we were getting any "betterment" from the sale.  The outright selling price will be a few thousand pounds. Alternatively the Council can take a small fee per annum in perpetuity.  A decision on this will be left to the next meeting for a thorough discussion when there should be more information available from Yorkshire Water.

Any Other Business

Cllr. J. F. Robinson has contacted Mike Peeke regarding litter bins for the Village. He was told that Mr Carl Jeffs would contact him.  Mr Jeffs said that some bins would become available shortly.  We estimate we need 5 bins.  The Council will erect the bins and empty them.  Mr Jeffs will be writing to the Clerk with further information when this is available.

The Clerk was asked to write to Mike Peeke thanking him for the work recently completed to the drain at Laurel Farm corner.

The meeting closed at 8.40 p.m.
