Easington Primary School News
Volunteers are wanted to help out with the Gardening Club. This club is held on a Tuesday and Thursday lunchtime, 12.30 to 1 pm. You will be helping the children with gardening tasks such as digging, weeding, planting and sowing. If you can spare some time and would like to help out then please telephone the school on 01964 650214. You will need a CRB check before you start. This will be organised and paid for by the school.
Do you have any unwanted surplus flowering plants?
The school would welcome them so the children can plant them into pots to place outside the school buildings.
Glass Bank, Easington
This can be used for mixed glass, not brown glass as stated on the side of the bank. This means you can place clear, brown, green and blue glass bottles and jars in the bank.
Badapple Theatre Show
The ‘Back to the Land Girls’ theatre performance which was held on the 15th March was a huge success. A big thank you to all of the people who supported this event, in particular the volunteers who helped to make the evening run smoothly. Thanks also go to the Badapple Team for their fantastic performance. Keep an eye out for details of Badapple Theatre returning to the village again in December – this time with a festive production.

Wind Turbine
BT are applying for planning permission to site 5 wind turbines in Easington and Skeffling. In 2009, when the matter was first brought to their attention both Parish Councils met representatives from BT and strongly voiced their objections to any more wind turbines in the area.
When the turbines at Out Newton Road were originally proposed there were many objections. At appeal, the 20 turbines asked for was reduced to seven, and it was stated this should be the maximum for the locality.
BT are now applying for Planning Permission to erect 5 wind turbines just off Out Newton Road. Three will be sited on the Easington side of the parish boundary, and the other two will be on the Skeffling side.
BT will be submitting their plans to the Planning Authority in the next month or two. They are also planning 'information exhibitions' to be held at both Skeffling and Easington, to give residents the opportunity to see the proposals and give their views to BT representatives.
The exhibitions will be open for at least a week to give everyone a chance to see what BT have in mind.
We will try to keep you up to date via the Newsletters and Skeffling and Easington Community Websites. We're all working closely together to make sure you have all the facts as soon as possible.
More Wind Turbines
The Councils have just been made aware that RWE npower renewables are applying to build up to 333 offshore wind turbines off the coast of East Lindsey, East Lincolnshire, East Riding of Yorkshire and north Norfolk. It is called the Triton Knoll Offshore Wind Farm.
The consultation on the offshore wind farm proposals will commence on 1st June 2011.
There is to be an exhibition for the public to view the plans on the 24th June in the Community Hall. RWE will be issuing newsletters providing information for the community.
