FAST...

a national campaign

to increase stroke awareness

From February 2009, a new public-facing campaign will encourage a FAST response to the signs of stroke, reducing the risk of death and disability.

Facial weakness – can the person smile?  Has their mouth or eye drooped?

Arm weakness – can the person raise both arms?

Speech problems – can the person speak clearly and understand what you say?

Time to call 999.

Anyone seeing any of these signs should treat it as an emergency.

Start spreading the word – FAST.
