Comments: I've really enjoyed looking through your website pages. I had ancestors living in Skeffling in the mid 1800s. Please do you know if the following addresses still exist: Gillcross House; Gillcross Cottages & Cammidge? Cottages? Do photos exist? My ancestors were the Marritt & Hammond families. James Hammond came up from Suffolk after his parents died. Please does anyone know why he would travel from Suffolk to Skeffling between 1861 & 1867? I wonder how he heard of Skeffling! I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.

Comments: Found your quiz page by accident this week, didn't know our neighbours had a website. The quiz was more challenging than the usual offerings you see on other web pages. Like the little touch of the characters giving what I thought was dubious advice though. Will be making these pages a regular stop in the future.
Could you give some info on Weeton if possible.

Comments: I thought it was very strange that you should be making comments about us all in that way and I'm very pleased to learn that it wasn't you. I think the so and so who has been using your name though is a total prat (if that's allowed on here) and its a shame we cannot find out who it was exactly. Anyway, Colin I'm glad it's been cleared up. Charmain

Comments: Re your comments Colin. Why? I go to work, come home, have my tea, do a bit of work and go to bed. Every day, five days a week. What on earth have I and the rest of the villagers, who are all probably doing just as mundane things, done to deserve such harsh comments? If you have an issue with someone in particular then I think you ought to sort whatever it is with them and not be so rude about the rest of us.

Comments: Skeffling Newsletter article February 2010.
I was horrified to read about the plight of the young deer caught on barbed wire in Hodgson's Field. I love the deer and feel privelaged to live near them. Yorkshire Wildlife needs to be thoroughly ashamed!! I do not understand what is happening with that field. I thought that it was going to be left for the wildlife but that has never happened.
As for the RSPCA well, I am sure everyone knows that they are very short of funds. However, it is not acceptable, under any circumstances, to leave an animal suffering in this way and I feel the man concerned did the right thing. I feel very sorry that his children witnessed the plight of this poor creature but at least they saw their father acting very responsibly by doing everything he could for the deer.
My other thought is that it would be nice if there was a vet on call for such emergencies, who would be prepared to offer their services for free, considering how much money they make from the rest of us!
